Science is really important to some people, while others find science interesting. But not all people like science. Of course, if one likes science more than anything else, he or she will go on to a science department or university to get an education. But there is no such thing as a science major. Science is indeed a broad field, science is even medicine, and this is what I wanted to learn. My grandfather is a doctor, my grandmother is a dentist. My aunt is also a dentist. My family is primarily a science that deals with medicine, so I thought I could study medicine as well.
So I decided to study dentistry too. Studying to become a dentist is quite difficult, to be honest. I thought it would be easier because it\’s just dental care and oral care. I thought doctors are really challenging, so I decided to go into dentistry. But unfortunately, I had to give it up after three years. I got pregnant, but on top of that, I was not very good at studying, especially Latin. I also had bad eyesight, and that was a really big problem. I went to an ophthalmologist, but unfortunately it didn\’t work out and I had to leave dental school.
I think I had to quit anyway. Because my eyesight had deteriorated considerably and I was diagnosed with cataracts. But I figured that once my vision was better and the cataracts were removed, I could at least get training to be a nurse. I was still struggling with my Latino background, but I did very well as a nurse. Later, I majored in psychology. This is more of a therapist than a psychologist, but I really enjoy this job as well.
